Freedom Leisure Rye staff getting in the Christmas spirit!
Freedom Leisure Rye got festive and raised £70 for Rye Lifeboat (part of the RNLI) at its Christmas themed Splash Dance on Friday 4 December 2009. The Splash Dance, which took place at Rye Sports Centre, saw the swimming pool turned Santa red whilst the lifeguards on duty were wearing their best Christmas fancy dress. The DJ playing Christmas music throughout the night really got things in the Christmas spirit.
Amber Morris and Bradley Kipps were the talented school children from Rye Community Primary School that won the card competition judged by Rye Lifeboat. Lucky people won great prizes including one month’s free membership at Freedom Leisure Rye, sports bags, fruit hamper and glass ware in a charity raffle. Prizes were donated by local shops including Wood ‘n’ Things, Button Basner Games, Sweet Williams and Debbie’s Sweet Shop. There was also a lucky dip and face painting for the children and mince pies and wine for the adults.
Matt James, Freedom Leisure Centre Manager for Rye, said: “I just want to say thank you for all those who helped and donated prizes on the night. It was a huge success and everyone had a great time. As well as having lots of fun and getting in the Christmas spirit we also raised funds for an incredibly worthwhile local cause.”
